Our trip to Co. Down for St. Patrick’s weekend by bus from Mullingar will cost no more that €250 and will include bus fare, 3 nights B & B, 2 evening meals and a wonderful weekend. Leaving Mullingar Wednesday March 16th at 6.30pm and returning Satuday 20th. |

International Walking Festival - 6th, 7th & 8th of May 2011 |

Boherquill Ramblers will hold their annual open walking festival on Friday May 6th, Saturday May 7th, Sunday May 8th. The Friday evening walk in Tullynally Castle grounds is suitable for families and a chance to start our festival on the right foot. We hope to have a guest speaker. The Saturday walk will start at 11 a.m. in Castlepollard and proceed across country to the shore of Lough Derravaragh and from there, along the shore to the top of Knockeyon. The Sunday walk will start in Fore at 11 a.m. and will proceed to the top of the Ben of Fore from there across country to Lough Ban.
The walk will continue along the shore to a viewing point at the Glenidan end of the lake where there will be a lunch break. The walk will then return along country lanes and fields to the shores of Lough Lene and then along the shore back to Fore. Both walks are over fields and country lanes and are 4 to 5 hours long. There will be a number of drop off points along the way where those who do not wish to complete the full walk can avail of a lift back to the starting point. Participants should bring a packed lunch, which will be transported to the lunch stop by car.

Photography Competition |

Each year we ask members to take part in our annual photography competition. The best wildlife/nature photos from our walks are collected and awarded first, second and third places. The prizes for the competiton are presented at our club Christmas party. |
